The Earth Will Not Abide is an exhibition (at UIC’s Gallery 400) employing a variety of media and methods to ask questions about the ecological and social viability of industrial agriculture and extractive land use.
Artists include Ryan Griffis and Sarah Ross, Brian Holmes and Alejandro Meitin, Sarah Lewison and duskin drum, and Claire Pentecost. Coinciding with the exhibit is the This Land/That Land symposium (May 23/24), organized by Gallery 400 and UIC’s Native American Support Program, that addresses environmental and land-based injustice against communities of color.
