The School of Art + Design at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign invites applications for two full-time Instructor/Lecturers in the area of industrial design for a teaching-focused appointment beginning August 16, 2018.
This appointment requires service for one nine-month academic year.
Applicants should have a terminal degree (MFA, MDes or equivalent) in Industrial Design and some undergraduate graphic design teaching experience is required. Candidates without a terminal degree who possess significant professional experience will be considered for appointment at the rank of Instructor. The school seeks a forward-thinking individual capable of fostering positive relationships and inspiring students. Preference will be given to those with instructional experience beyond a teaching assistant position. The ideal candidate should possess a demonstrated record of professional accomplishments spanning all phases of the product design and development process, including concept through manufacture.
