Designing for a Circular Food World
Clare will talk about her journey from commercial designer to becoming a creative sustainability consultant in the food sector, taking on a mission to change the way designers across the world are taught.
Clare Brass is a designer, an innovator, and an educator. She was head of sustainability at the Design Council before setting up SEED Foundation, developing user-centered entrepreneurial solutions to social and environmental challenges such as food, water, and waste. She set up and ran SustainRCA at the Royal College of Art and was a mentor for the Ellen MacArthur Foundation.
In 2016 Clare cofounded Department 22, a creative consultancy for sustainability and circular economy with a focus on the food sector. Since lockdown, Department 22 has been developing an exciting new food start-up called Bulkify, giving more people access to delicious, independently produced, sustainable, and healthy food.
