Jennie Maydew is making the thing that makes the thing by exploring how an interdisciplinary social practice can playfully dissolve prescription, emphasize process, and keep our personal and communal gifts in motion. Through an inquiry into alternate economies, (fun)ctionality, and the concept of play as serious work, she centers the nature and urgency of our obligations to past, present, and future beings. Creating the conditions where questions can be collectively tended, Jennie delays certainty to promote attention, attunement, and ambivalence as life-sustaining strategies.
