About Denisse Beltrán
bio
Denisse Beltrán is an illustrator and graphic designer born in Mexico City. Her professional practice spans cultural dissemination through poster design and visual identity, children’s illustration, visual poetry, and arts and design education. Denisse is fascinated by the small things and enjoys exploring the possibilities and limits of image-making. Introspection, nostalgia, and the everyday are constant themes in her work.
She holds a BFA in Graphic Design from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and an MFA in Illustration Practice from Maryland Institute College of Art. From 2024 to 2026, she was an AICAD fellow and served as a Teaching Assistant Professor in Graphic Design at the Kansas City Art Institute.
Her work has been selected for the Domestika Catalog Mexico, American Illustration – American Photography, the World Illustration Awards, and the Annual Illustration Show of 3×3 Magazine. She has worked and collaborated with institutions such as Cineteca Nacional México, the French Alliance México, Grupo Planeta, and the Instituto de Investigaciones Estéticas (UNAM), among others.
