Distinguished Alumni Lecture: Louise Fishman
Louise Fishman has made political and cultural identity ever present in her work as a Jewish woman and a lesbian. She first gained national attention for her hand-sewn textile works. Fishman would go on to grapple with themes from nature and post-Holocaust Europe, calligraphic marks from Hebrew characters, and Chinese and Japanese calligraphy reflecting her study of Buddhism.
A reception in the Link Gallery will follow the lecture.
