Artist Statement
Pronouns: She/Her
My work explores ideas of labor, effort, time, and absurdity. I associate the tactility of drawing with labor and utilize drawing as a way to suggest the remnants of action as well as playful intimacy all while emphasizing the performance of my actions and gestures. In this, I use my body as a tool to assert more attention to the process. Many of my projects art ephemeral because I believe that to work towards the destruction of something is an intentional act of absurdity. In this absurdity lies the duality of suffering and humor. I represent this dichotomy through action and inaction, drawing and effacement, the empty, diminished, and overall futile.
