Lindsay Edwards is a first-year Art Education Ph.D. Student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Lindsay earned her undergraduate and master’s degrees in art education from the University of Texas at Austin and worked in art instruction in Austin, Texas. Her research interests focus on the intersection of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) practices and art education curricula. She previously presented at the National Art Education Association 2023 Conference on art-integrated SEL classroom practices. In addition, she has facilitated community art projects with the elder community of The Conservatory in Austin, TX focusing on creating connections between neighbors through art. When not researching or practicing art, Lindsay enjoys reading, adventuring, and spending time with her cats, Lily and Smudge.
