Apply to an Undergraduate Program

Undergraduate applicants to the University of Illinois School of Art & Design fall into three categories: First-Year, Transfer, and Intercollege Transfer. Each category has different application requirements and deadlines. First-Year 

All first-year Art & Design students apply to one of the following majors in the College of Fine and Applied Arts: Art & Art History, Art Education, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Studio Art (BA), or Studio Art (BFA).

Transfer 

Transfers from another university or college apply to one of the following majors in the College of Fine and Applied Arts: Art & Art History, Art Education, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Studio Art (BA), or Studio Art (BFA).

Intercollege Transfer 

Intercollege transfer is the process of transferring from one college to another within the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Students apply to one of the following majors in the College of Fine and Applied Arts: Art & Art History, Art Education, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Studio Art (BA), or Studio Art (BFA).

Portfolio Review 

Most degree programs require a portfolio submission. Faculty members participate in National Portfolio Days and can advise you on putting together your portfolio.
